Tina Fey surprises summer stage kids in Collegeville
Except for Fey’s nephew, Alex, the cast of “The Music Man” didn’t even know Fey was in the building until she went backstage to speak to them after the show.
“You guys were great!” Fey told the cast, consisting of youth from fourth grade through college age.
“The fact that you put that together so quickly is amazing. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves.”
In her youth Fey participated in Upper Darby summer stage and says it was “the most fun” she ever had.
“I never had a big part. We used to make all our own costumes. We used to hot glue them together. Some of my best friends are the people I met there,” Fey told the actors.
Fey advised the kids to be nice to everyone in the FaceTime program because “odds are two of you are going to get married,” she joked.
